Finance & Procurement Business Services (FPBS)

What I do

I'm responsible for strategic planning and positioning for the Finance & Procurement Business Services (FPBS) section of the OUC. That means I work with the campus finance offices, Procurement Service Center (PSC), University Counsel, Office of Policy and Efficiency, and other constituents, to develop policies and procedures related to finance, financial reporting, purchasing, payables, and travel. I also write the PSC Communicator newsletter and the Office of University Controller newsletter/news blog.

I'm happy to answer your questions on:

• Interpretation of/input on fiscal policies and procedures (University Fiscal Procedures, Fiscal Administrative Policy Statements or APSs, Accounting Handbook, PSC Procedural Statements)
• Policy briefings (on-site) for faculty/staff meetings

• B.A. in History and M.A. in African Languages & Literature (Arabic), from University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Past work in curricular systems development (UW-Madison),, epidemiology (Wisconsin government), marketing, and higher education information resources (Educause) ... also stints as a cab driver, EMT, and disc jockey
• Instructor in the CPE for CPAs Program
• Chair-Higher Education User Group (HEUG) Communications Committee and Program Committee member-COLTT (Colorado Learning & Teaching with Technology)
• I joined CU as a trainer with the PeopleSoft implementation in 1998
