  • A note about Providers’ MTA terms.  CU is a signatory to the Uniform Biological Material Transfer Agreement(UBMTA).  When the Provider supplies materials under any other terms, CU may be required to negotiate changes with respect to indemnification, liability, governing law, and government-mandated disclosures of confidential information.  Terms that don’t conform to the State of Colorado’s fiscal rules cannot be accepted for signature by the University of Colorado and will require negotiation by the MTA administrator.
  • An MTA is not necessary for exchanges of CU Materials among CU investigators using CU facilities, except in some instances when the campus IRB, Privacy, or Biosafety officers require a Material Transfer record.  The Simple Letter or Simple Letter for Transfer of Human Biospecimens can be adapted for these uses.
