System Staff Council rounding up supplies to benefit community

Spring is the perfect time to clean out closets and pantries and, at the same time, help the rising number of those in need.

The System Staff Council's supply drive this week through April 2 will benefit the Denver Rescue Mission in Denver and Sister Carmen Community Center in Lafayette. The council's 2010 service project is seeking new and used clothing, nonperishable food items, cleaning supplies, personal products, diapers and other household items.

Donation drop-off sites are:

  • 1800 Grant St. - Drop off at eighth or sixth floor front desk (contacts: David Pierce or Ashley Mohr)
  • PBS - Sixth floor, Marine St. PBS location (contact: Diane Streuer)
  • UIS - Contact Aaron Betterton
  • PSC - Eighth floor break room (contact: Cordelia Angel)
  • Legal (Boulder) - Contact Sara Missel
  • Tech Transfer - Contact Lynn Pae

The Denver Rescue Mission provides shelter, food and clothing to the poor, needy and homeless and teaches work discipline with the aim of creating self-sufficient, productive citizens.

Sister Carmen Community Center provides individuals and families of Boulder County with emergency food and assistance and prevents homelessness by offering services to relieve financial stressors and to encourage low-income individuals to become self sufficient.
