Opportunities in Sustainability
Wednesday, February 22, 2006
8:00am to 4:45pm
Discovery Learning Center, Bechtel Learning Collaboratory
University of Colorado at Boulder campus
Are you an inventor? A tinkerer? A researcher with a potential new product? The Engineering for Developing Communities Program, in conjunction with the First Annual Sustainable Opportunities Week, is proud to present the second Invention to Venture workshop hosted by the University of Colorado at Boulder. The workshop is an introduction to the process and practice of technology entrepreneurship. This particular event focuses on entrepreneurship in sustainable technologies. What are sustainable technologies and what do they have to do with entrepreneurship? Sustainable technologies are engineering systems, built environments and infrastructure that are designed to be in harmony with the environment. To capture emerging business opportunities, entrepreneurs must ensure both that the proposed technology actually works, and that it can be sold for a profit. This workshop helps innovators in sustainability make the transition to viable business models.
Workshop Details Workshop sessions will provide the opportunity for participants to investigate
- What is technology entrepreneurship and is it for me?
- How do I determine if my idea could lead to a business opportunity?
