Business Advisory Board

In order for CU to leverage its expertise in technology transfer, TTO constantly seeks to expand partnership relationships in all aspects of what we do: with business, with other academic institutions, with Colorado communities, with the state, and with the federal government. To accomplish this one of the first initiatives of the new TTO management was to bring prominent members of the business, legal and financial communities together with leading CU faculty entrepreneurs to explore ways to improve the process of commercializing inventions from research bench to marketplace. From these meeting held in 2002, the Business Advisory Board emerged.

Over the past years the TTO Business Advisory Board has played a key role in assessing TTO performance, advising on new TTO initiatives, providing access to the technology support business community and advocating for resources necessary to build a world-class technology transfer operation at CU. About one quarter of the Board membership turns over each year. Academic members help to provide insights about university operations and culture during Board discussions.
