Description:
The CU Technology Transfer Office is gearing up for its Third Annual Technology Transfer Events on Monday, November 8, 2004. The events will begin with a faculty panel discussion, a networking reception, and an awards dinner which will recognize the achievements of inventors in life sciences and physical sciences, as well as two companies who have partnered in the commercialization of University inventions. Another group which will be recognized will be the New Inventor of the Year award. The events will take place in Turnhalle at the historic Tivoli Brewery on the University of Colorado, Denver campus. Invited attendees will represent several community groups; CU inventors, business leaders, CU administration, faculty, staff researchers and students, economic developers and technology incubators, public and elected officials of local and state government, and reporters from the business press. President Betsy Hoffman and members of the CU Board of Regents will also attend the events. The purpose of the events is to bring together the business and inventor community, offering a place to share ideas, to network, and to celebrate the accomplishments of CU inventors who demonstrate best practices of technology transfer--advancing the University's objective of creating a robust technology licensing operation. Inventors and company award nominees are nominated by the CU-TTO staff. Awards will be given to those who best represent support of CU's technology transfer operation, those who have demonstrated sustained technology licensing arrangements and their efforts to work cooperatively with the business community.
