Chris Sappenfield
Chris joined the Quine Intellectual Property Law Group, P.C., in August 1999. His practice emphasizes biotechnology and other high-technology patent preparation and prosecution in addition to client counseling. Exemplary technological practice areas include rapid molecular evolution, protein engineering, bioinformatics, proteomics, biophysical devices, nucleic acid and protein chemistry, combinatorial chemistry, microfluidic assays and instrumentation, and mechanical devices. Mr. Sappenfield expects to receive a Certificate in Bioinformatics from Stanford University in Spring 2003. He received an M.A. in Biochemistry from the University of Denver (1999). His legal training includes a J.D. (1996) and an LL.M. (1997) from the University of Miami. His undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and International Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder (magna cum laude, 1991). Mr. Sappenfield worked as an associate for Lowe, Meyer LLC in the Denver area, where he assisted in patent preparation and prosecution. He also obtained significant experience working in various other capacities in the biotechnology industry. He is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and admitted to practice as an attorney in the State of Colorado.
