Mission Statement: to catalyze and integrate advances in science, engineering and technology to promote the quality of life and independent living of people with cognitive disabilities.

Coleman Institute's Goals:
- To empower the independence, self-determination, and productivity of individuals with cognitive disabilities;
- To strengthen the national and international voice in support of persons with cognitive disabilities;
- To develop and supporting a community of researchers, clinicians, and public policy experts working in the cognitive disability field.
