Dear CU Denver Campus Community,

I want to thank the CU Denver Chancellor Search Committee for its work over the past several months. The committee considered 20 applications, interviewed seven candidates, and recently forwarded the names of four candidates to me for consideration. After meeting with the search committee to hear their comments about each of the four candidates, and after reviewing the curricula vitae and the analysis provided by our search consultants on each of the candidates, I selected the top three candidates to move forward in the process with the possibility they would be named finalists.

We made it clear to candidates that if they were named a finalist their names would become public, reference checks would be completed, and they would be invited to campus for interviews. One of the three chose to withdraw early because she did not want her name made public. I announced in my communiqué of April 16 that I had invited two candidates to come for campus visits. One of them made the decision on Thursday of this week to withdraw from the process.

Therefore, I am pleased to advance Dr. Pam Benoit, who currently serves as Executive Vice President and Provost at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. I encourage you to take the opportunity to attend the Open Forum scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Student Commons building, room #2600 on the Auraria Campus, so that you can interact with Dr. Benoit, and then I ask that you provide your feedback to me by Friday, May 1st. An evaluation form will also be posted on the search webpage. I will carefully review your feedback before making any decisions.
