All data, with the exception of the S:\ drive, on the UMS file server
will be backed up and archived using the following protocol: All volumes
will be backed up Monday through Friday There will be a four work-week
retention period for all data. How To Request a Data Restore: All requests for data restores to the Novell file server must be routed through the UMS Help Desk. This applies only to requests from University of Colorado staff who work in the following departments:
Please contact the UMS Help Desk at extension 2-9457 or 2-9458 Monday
through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or at helpdesk@cusys.edu
to get assistance for restore requests. Once a request is processed
by the Help Desk, the files will be restored by 9:00 a.m. on the
next work
day, if the date of the data to be restored is less than one work week
old. Data which is older will take longer to restore as those tapes
are located off site.
NOTE: If the request for a data restore by the user to the Help Desk requires immediate attention, the Help Desk will contact the Network Services team member personally.
