A Message from the PresidentMarch 2015 So long, Ninth and Colorado
It was bittersweet at the end of January when CU closed on a deal to sell the former home of the CU Health Sciences Center at Ninth Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Our School of Medicine moved to the site in 1924 and generations of physicians, researchers and health care workers called it home before we began our move to the CU Anschutz Medical Campus more than a decade ago. Continuum Partners purchased the property and has plans to build a mixed-use development, with apartments, housing, retail and office space. While we are thrilled to be at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, which has developed into one of the world's leading health care, research and education facilities, we also leave behind fond memories of our former home, where many dedicated women and men built the strong foundation on which our excellence in health care rests.
