CU Advocates a force in support of higher education

CU AdvocatesAs the CU Advocates program celebrates its second anniversary, I’d like to extend my gratitude to the more than 2,000 people around the world who have stepped up to be educated and help educate others about the important role the University of Colorado plays in their communities and across the globe.

The past two years, CU Advocates have:

  • Promoted CU to prospective students and their parents
  • Shared their CU stories with students, parents and constituents on the website
  • Contacted elected officials in response to our legislative calls to action
  • Hosted community events and attended town halls hosted by legislators
  • Written letters to the editor or guest editorials in newspapers and media in support of higher education

The CU Advocates program has hosted more than 30 free educational forums across Colorado, including CU Advocacy Day at the Capitol. More than 1,200 of Colorado’s 1,700 advocates have taken advantage of these forums.

The CU Advocates are doing outstanding work on the university’s behalf and I appreciate their commitment to making CU, and public higher education, a priority. If you want to speak out on behalf of the university, please help us by joining the CU Advocates program and also encouraging your friends to sign up.
