Introducing CU Mini-Law School
Already popular, inaugural sessions offer insights into legal issues

CU Law School, Wittemeyer Courtroom
A popular University of Colorado community project that has spread nationally and internationally since its introduction in 1989 has now branched off into another area of knowledge. The CU Law School this month introduces Mini-Law School, an offshoot of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus' Mini Med School. The inaugural law school program already has been met with great enthusiasm – all 200 slots have been filled for this series of sessions.

The CU Mini-Law School will hold seven sessions between Oct. 4 and Dec. 6, 6-7:30 p.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom at the Wolf Law Building on the CU-Boulder campus. Each week, a professor from the law school will teach a different topic, including constitutional law, litigation, family law, and estate planning and taxation. Participants who attend at least five of the seven sessions will receive a Mini-Law School Certificate.

The program's counterpart, Mini Med School, was founded in 1989 by J. John Cohen, a CU medical school professor of immunology and medicine. With more than 17,000 graduates, the program continues to be the most popular and anticipated event offered by the CU School of Medicine.

Although the law school courses are full for this go-round, now is the time to be thinking of next year. Those interested can email mini-law@colorado.edu and indicate that they've been wait-listed and wish to enroll for next year. They will receive a link that will enable them to register now.

The registration fee for the series is $35.
