Chase award winner honored for student engagement in civic, humanitarian work
Congratulations to the 2012 recipient of the Chase Faculty Community Service Award, Melissa Hart, an associate professor in the CU School of Law. The $10,000 endowment by Chase is granted to a full-time CU faculty member who provides exceptional service to the community. Hart has taught at the law school since 2000. In 2010, she became the director of the Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law. She also conceived and has served as coordinator of the law school's Public Service Pledge Program, which encourages law students to provide pro bono legal work to needy populations and underfunded entities. She will be recognized by the CU Board of Regents at an upcoming meeting.
