University Management Systems uses Sendmail as a pass through device to filter and send mail. Both inbound and outbound mail pass through these servers.
If you are creating e-mail distribution lists or have a new employ to set up with a mailbox you should start by contacting Judy.Maiocco@cusys.edu or Richard.Day@cusys.edu for assistance. The UNIX team will activate the alias once a mailbox or distribution list is established.
The purpose of using Sendmail as a pass through device is to filter out Spam and, eventually, computer viruses before they enter our network.
